Happy 4th & the 3-legged race by Harlan!

Happy Fourth of July everybody!!! I sure hope I don't have to wear another dumb shirt on the 5th of July...

These were the only flags we found in our neighborhood—at a French restaurant owned by a South African, a Chilean, and an Englishman! God Bless America!!!

On behalf of Harlan and his people, many thanks for your good wishes. He had his surgery on Thursday and is now recovering up in the Adogrondacks. The doctor tried to perform the surgery with a scope, but the chip was too big, so he had to make a small incision.

Harlan's Mom was surprised to see how big the chip actually was —almost the size of a dime!
Here he is keeping it elevated after he came home from the dog hospital.

And when you've had a bone chip removed, nothing helps with your recovery quite like a nice juicy marrow bone (that can double as a chin rest when you're through.)

His Dad calls this little film "Three Wheelin'." Harlan is supposed to take it easy (HA!) and will have to be walked on a leash for the next three weeks. Easy to do in the city, not so much in the Adogrondacks.  Now he's on the mend and I'll look forward to signing his cast (actually, it's a pink bandage!) when he gets back to the city. Keep eating those marrow bones Harlan! (But save one for me!)

Harlan looks like he's getting on really well. Shame the bandage is a girly pink(so Mom said) most likely it looks grey to him....

Finally caught up with you blogs - left some comments on the older ones and I joined up and am on the on the Mosaic too! Yip peee! Thanks you Petey pal!

You look awesome in your patriotic shirt, Petey!
Harlan looks like he's doing okay with his new cast but why pink? Didn't they realize that he was a boy?!

Love ya lots,

Hi Petey
That is a lot of shirt for summer. But you look cute. Harlan looks like he's not bothered too much. I hope he's all better soon.

...okay, okay...I stretched the truth a little...I didn't really go out to the fireworks because I am too chicken...okay, beagle-chicken...PLUS! Riley is scared when our antique noisy dishwasher from the 80's is on so no way he could take fireworks...in a kayak...sorry, for leading you on a little but my mom didn't want to make the blog about her...so Bear's pawrents are friends with the MAESTRO?! Wow, cool. What an incredible show it was just phenomenal to see and hear it on the water...so my mom says...will check out the mosaic.

Hi Petey,

Thanks for stopping by! My mom told me she wanted a Cairn and a Westie but somehow ended up with 2 Westies instead. Sometimes when I'm naughty she likes to scare me by saying maybe she should have brought a Cairn home instead!

ps. I know she loves me too much to swap me.

Harlan is so adorable! I wonder if I put a pink bandage on my leg, if my mom would take me to the Adirondacks. I love it there! I like Burlington too. They have a lake and everything! It sounds like Harlan is hanging out pretty close to me. Maybe he needs a nurse.

Hi Petey! Nice to meet you! My name is Tom and I'm an English Springer Spaniel who also has an Abyssinian brother! His name is Sen-Chan and he will soon be one year old. I am only 10 months old. We live in France. We were so impressed to read that MIca is 18. That's lots of "respect years!"

Hehehe! Harlan's a funny guy! It looks like he doesn't let a little leg problem keep him down!

And aren't you handsome with your Fourth of July shirt on! I too hope you don't have to wear one any other day! Those things get annoying!

Thanks for smelling my blog! Hope to hear from you soon! Have a good rest of the weekend!

Slurp!

I am going to make pee-wee read about Harlan. I think he still has a boo-boo and is too big a block head to slow down.
