Our Wedding Day - Part 1 - The guests arrive

Oh Boy! I can't believe this day is finally here!

Just look at this car that me and my boys headed off to the Abbey in —and with Mango behind the wheel in a right-hand drive. Phew! It will be a miracle if we make it to the church on time!

Guests were already starting to arrive when we got there - strolling the beautiful and peaceful grounds of Pluscarden Abbey were Stella and Taffy and BaileyBlue and the lovely Persephone.
The ladies looked gorgeous in their tartans! Moko, Ruby Bleu, Stella, Teka, Khyra and Penny chatted on the lawn...

Lacie had camped there overnight, so that there would be no way she'd miss ambushing Mango. However, once she caught sight of Molly's new brother Monty, all thoughts of Mango flew from her tiny head!

"Will you just look at him? And he's wearing my signature color!!! IT'S A SIGN!!!" she shrieked.

Collecting herself, she giggled, "Do you think he'll find my ensemble en-deering???"

Morgan, Mochi, Jazzi and Tinkerbell headed inside to admire the beautiful stained-glass windows —and each other's outfits.

While outside, Lucky and Roxy were whooping it up with the irrepressible Leuradale gals!
Miss Snickers and Gussie took advantage of the quiet in the Abbey to chat with Essex and Just Harry—and his new lucrative modeling career!
While outside, the catwalk of latest canine couture continued as Fiona (yoohoo! Clive! Here's that sweet Goldendoodle gal I was telling you about!), the impossibly leggy Honey, Kayla, a sultry Lorenza and Sally all discussed their purchases at the latest couture shows in Paris.

Inside, Scooter admired his birthday girl, the adorable Petra...

A very proud Uncle Milo showed off one of his young nephews...

Whilst Dennis, Paco, Noah, Mango and Dexter showed off some moves on the front steps...Hey Noah, did you learn those steps at Chippen' Dales?

It's traditional in Scottish weddings to have pipers play the bridal party into the ceremony and out of the church afterwards. Hoppy and Spud volunteered their services and promised not to play the Laciepipes.

Here's a handsome group of bachelors who couldn't wait until the reception to begin toasting the happy couple with a wee dram!

Brother and sister Archie and Agatha hurried in - Aggie thoughtfully brought along smelling salts in her pawbag in case Archie fainted from the excitement.

The guests mixed and mingled — Abby was chatted up by Ximui while beagle gals Cookie and Cinnamon talked to Mango and Chubbs. The lovely Lucia and theBuster made a striking pair.
Ahhh, there's nothing more handsome than a bunch of strapping lads in their kilts, is there, ladies???
Back inside, Clover and Chewy looked for their seats, while Sunny and Baby Stan shared a cuddle as Piper and Carleigh looked on in their matching gowns.

International Diva and rabble-rouser Sophie Brador waited inside the doorway—who would come in first? Her long-time love Joe Stains or her newest boytoy -- Mango the Relentless Huge? (She held this come-hither pose for over an hour...)
Sally and Paddie looked dashing as they entered the Abbey....

...as did Maggie and Mitch. Hey, why the dark circles under your eyes, Mitch? And is that a bit of wooly bloomer I see sticking out of your sporan?

Jake and Miss Fergi looked straight out of Beagadoon!

Eric Square Dog slipped away from his Best Dog duties to escort his lovely girlfriend Toffee to a prime seat.

My lads had changed into their wedding attire and relaxed for a few minutes behind the Abbey.

Groomsman Jake and Hamish, standing in as the Father of the Groom, shared some memories of their recent trip on the Royal Scotsman.

...while Eric Square Dog and Rosie's flatmate Alfie concentrated on the task at hand.

Officiant Mango the Relentlessly Huge and Joe Stains discussed a solution to the "Sophie situation."

Marvin slipped into his robes as one of the officiants and practiced his lines on his way into the Abbey.
And little Ares held tight to his horseshoe for Rosie. Tradition has a toddler hand the bride a horseshoe
on her way out of the church to wish the couple good fortune.

Can you hear Bobbie on the pipes?

The Bridal Party has arrived!!!

Lads and Lassies, please take your seats in the Abbey—the wedding ceremony will begin shortly!

Fantastic! As we knew it would be - we are off on holiday in the morning and were keen to see the first photos. We will have to wait for the rest but we know they will be great.
The worrying thing is that this really does remind us of weddings we have been to!!!
Also the people who have been at them - how weird is that.
Oh we just cant wait to see the bride!!!
Well of course we did see her but we mean the offical photographs!!!

OMD...we're barkless...even MOI, Lacie!!!

Oh Petey...what festivities...what magnificent photography....and what a hat I have on!!!! Or headdress...dunno what ya call it...it reminds me a lot of the outfits the bulls wear in that endearing (er endeering?) tradition in Spain...you know...where the bulls chase the IRRITANTS with their antler headdresses and um well you know...stab them????? This outfit is going to be the best ever...and that little veil....sorta reminds everydog how innocent I am???? Oh Petey...whereever did you find this...I don't hafta give it back do I??? I can so use this around the yardie!!!!! And my lovely dress...all those layers of ruffles...it well hides some of my shortcomings in the well ok...certain areas where I'm not so like well endowed....

OK...enuff of myself, I suppose...I can't believe what a fashionable extravaganza this is...did ya see Toffee's outfit? And Morgan's?? I'm gonna be thinkin' bout this for daze on end!!!

You don't mind if I use the blender during the ceremony do ya??? It's a little noisy when it cracks a big chunk of ice...

Oh Petey...I so can't wait to see Rosie's and your outfits...what is she carryin' for flowers...do they do the somethin' borrowed, somethin' blue bit there???

And did you see that handsome Monty??? Is he NOT THE HOTTEST THING EVER??? And so shy...my favorite type of conquest!!!!

Oh my...gotta run and get an extention cordie for the blender...it's sorta gonna go right across the aisle...tell Rosie just to give a good jump over it when she trots down, kay?

Love and kisses...Laciedear

Thank doG, I got a new ID and collar just in time to get through Customs -- or you would have been one groomsman short and I would have missed all the festivities!

The ladies all look magnificent -- and well, we gentlemen are quite something in our kilts.

I was a bit disturbed at the thought that the bit of wooly bloomer sticking out of Mitch's sporam you mentioned might have belonged to Ms. Gabbi -- it didn't, did it? Of course, it didn't!!!

Petey, you are quite the lad. This is indeed the wedding of the season!!

Jake of Florida (and my brother, JH, of course, looking pawsome with Ms. Essex).

Ahh Petey. Doesn't everydoggie looks MAGNIFICENT?? The wedding co-ordinator certainly outdid herself. Lacie in her headdress, what a dear she looks. And that cute puppy boy in his first outfit. Shame it had to be a skirtie though. Let's hope it doesn't scar him for life eh?

Now Petey. Be a good boy. Turn around and SIT. No more looking down the aisle. Wait till your Rosie arrives. Now have a wee nip of McCallans 18 year old from my hip flask. Hmmm ,just a wee bit younger than you Petey. Well dog a-blogging. I never thought I would see the day my BFF would marry a canny scotty lassie. Don't mind barking.Fair brings a tear or two to my eye.Or was it just the way the hip flask is a-digging into ma sporran???? High pitched barks at you Petey. What a grand affair you've arranged!! I'm amazed at your cleverness in finding such splendid outfits, but they certain are befitting to this momentous occasion! I feel like I'm truly watching a royal wedding on the telly heehee! Can't wait to tune in for the next installment!

Gus said...

Ach! You must've hired the "royal" photographer to catch all of us lookin' so fine. I am very glad that Miss S. is feeling well enough to come, I was worried for a bit that I might have to go stag. And that would have been dangerous, since Lacie is dressed as a deer(?)

Certainly my sister E.Rabbit is gonna spend a lot of time looking at these photos. She loves Men in Kilts, and we all look so handsome!

Teka says to thank the wedding coordinator for picking out her togs. She is very happy with her dressie! Let's just hope she and Lacie don't get into any miscief!

Is this where I say:

"Mile failte dhuit le d'bhreid,
Fad do regun robh thu slan.
Moran laithean dhuit is sith,
Le d'mhaitheas is le d'ni bhi fas."

Translated as: "A thousand welcomes to you with your marriage kerchief, may you be healthy all your days. May you be blessed with long life and peace, may you grow old with goodness, and with riches." This is attributed to the Rev. Donald MacLeod, minister of Duirinish, Skye, Scotland c. 1760.

Because ya know Petey, I don't think I can do that twice!

felicitations

Petey! Thank you soooo much for talking us into flying over for the wedding! If it weren't for you and the confidence that Asta is giving us, we never would've had the nerve. But it worked out well. Moma doesn't even know yet! (She's busy with her sister, and they always get preoccupied with "stuff." She won't miss us. So long as we get back in time for the trip to the park tomorrow.)

Everyone looks wonderfu! So much class! So much culture! We never knew life could be this good! We can hardly wait to see the ceremony... and to enjoy the reception and dancing afterwards. We've promised Asta and Stanley a dance... but WHERE ARE THEY? Did they elope!

So very excited (and feeling very proud),
Jake and Fergi

My sissies havent stopped talking about how wonderful everything was and how beautiful everyone looked. You & Rosie look fantastic.

Oh Petey,

What great wedding day photos!! I didn't realise that my Beagles, Cookie and Cinnamon, had been across the ocean to attend the ceremony, until Dughallmor Beagles told me about it!

Thank you for sharing a photo with Cookie and Cinnamon in it. They are dressed very nicely. I just need to mention that Cookie is a boy, but I knew that he had wanted to dress like a girl, as he has always loved wearing clothes!
