If Mommy was a horse, I'd have to shoot her.

Well, rotten news. Mommy heard about her MRI today and she has indeed torn two ligaments in her ankle. Now on to an or-toe-pee-tist to find out if she needs surgery. Looks like 8 weeks of recovery ahead. NO FUN FOR PETEY.

I returned to the scene of the crime. Okay, it was a block from here (no pun intended).  You can see how uneven the streets are in the Meat-packing district. Behind me is Pastis, the closest thing to an authentic french cafe in these parts. We like to come here early for breakfast. I can come too because we can sit outside. Last time we were here, Ty Pennington from Extreme Home Makeover was at the next table. He fed me his bacon and didn't have that nasty megaphone and was a very nice man. BUT I GUESS WE WON'T BE STROLLING OVER HERE FOR BREAKFAST ANYTIME SOON, WILL WE MOMMY?

I was looking at all those nice photos of the Boston Doggies roaching in the Arboretum in the nice cool grass. Boy, it sure would be nice if we could go to Central Park and I could have a great romp in the grass instead of on blistering hot sidewalks. BUT NO. Guess I'll have to make do with roaching on the carpet instead. THANKS MOM!

I'm just gonna go have a nice sulk. Harumph!

We interrupt Petey's bellyaching and whining to bring you this message from MICA!

Thanks for all the nice comments about my first post! Since it looks like we're going to be housebound for awhile, I can regale you with photos of me sleeping in all my favorite places and in all my favorite positions. This is going work out just great for me!!!

See you on the next MICA MONDAY!

We now return this blog to its regularly scheduled terrier.

Just wagged over to ask about Mommy with a message in your C box and there was your new post. What a bummer. Poor Mommy paws crossed no surgery required.

But I've had a good idea for you Petey. If you want grass for rock and rolls why not ask Ty to change your carpet to Astro turf for you?
Mica would purrfur that too I guess.

Hi Petey!
Oh, so sorry about your Mommy's foot! I hope it doesn't feel too bad.
Haha, you are so angry at your mom in your post. This is my favourite part: "BUT I GUESS WE WON'T BE STROLLING OVER HERE FOR BREAKFAST ANYTIME SOON, WILL WE MOMMY?" Lol.
Did you like my Arboretum pictures? My arboretum is actually in Ottawa!

SHe was trying to turn over a new leaf..HA!! she turned alright and never TRIED to exercise again) and she was out of commision for awhile so we know what this is like....Roaching on the carpet can be just as good in fact better.. no grass allergies to worry about.... We will cross all paws tightly for good luck...Love and kisses A+A

Hi Petey,
Sorry to hear about your mom's torn her ligaments..AND you probably won't be going for any walkies for the next 8 weeks.
For the next few weeks, you should just cuddle close to her and get all the tummy rubs/ ear rubs to make up for your lack of walkies!

Oh, your poor mommy. Keeping paws crossed for speedy recovery.

Even though you were sulking, you still look so cute though.

Oh heck, what a pity about your mum's foot. Hopefully her recovery will be quick!! Ours paws are crossed.
We don't know who Ty Pennington is but how cook he gave you bacon. He must be a good guy.

Petey -

You are going to have a full time job looking after your mom the next few months huh? Remember how loving and kind she has been to you when you have been sick = )

I am sure Asta will invite you out to a few playdates so you will be able to roach in some grass!

Hey Petey, sorry to read about your mum's foot. I guess it works out good for you though, as she's trapped indoors with you so you can keep an eye on her! It might possibly lead to more snacks for you, which has got to be a good thing. J x

Maybe if you give mom's leg some kisses? I heard somewhere that our saliva is really antibacterial and healing. I'm sure after some quality time with Petey, M.D. she'll be running through the New York streets with you!

Two torn ligaments in your ankle! OUCH!!! That hurts!! My mom sure knows. A few years ago, Koobus III pulled her over on some ice during his walk and she broke her ankle and tore a bunch of ligaments. She needed two surgeries and therapy. She was "tied up" (hehe) from February until the middle of April. Sheesh...

Anyway, good luck to your mom. Hope that she has a speedy recovery and does not need surgery. If there is anything that my mom can do to help her through this, let her know. She feels your pain, believe me.

Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

One time when I was a baby, Grandpa Angus, Beautiful Raja, and I were all on the back porch and momma's legs tangled up in us and she fell down the stairs and tore her ankle too! She had to wear a big old robo-boot and go to the physical therapy. It took FOREVER to get better.
