Mica's Hangover and Shake your Booties!

Now that Mica is 18, he's decided he's old enough to drink. So last night he washed down his Fancy Feast with a glass of Sancerre. When we came into the living room this morning, we found him like this.
Clearly hungover.  But given that smile on his face, it must have been worth every drop.

Now doggies, I ask you...do you know what this is? (No, not Mommy's teal blue nail polish.)

It's one of my booties. They look like deflated balloons and they stay on my feet better than my MuttLuks.  So why does Mommy torture me with these silly things?

Salt. And de-icer. It's piled on thick on all the sidewalks and roads. Here's the thing - when doggies get salt on their wet paws, it acts as a conductor. So when you touch something metal - like a manhole cover or a signpost or a hydrant- you can get a bad shock. De-icer is just as bad. It works by heating up and melting the ice. So it burns your paws. And because your paws are ouchy-hot, you lick 'em then get that nasty stuff in your tummy.  Here's the pet-safe de-icer we use at the run. If you need to use de-icer, this is a really good one.

So remember those beautiful photos of Asta and I frolicking the snow yesterday? If you haven't seen her photos, go take a peek - the ones with her and the kids on the sled are adorable and guaranteed to make you smile!

Here's what it looked like today. I wore humiliating booties for this?

Mommy and I did find a little fluffy snow to play in. Don't I look like I'm in the prison yard? Petey behind bars.
There wasn't even enough for a good Snow Face Pack. Oh well...goodbye snow! See you next winter!

Does everybloggie like my new header? It's me and Rosie, writing the first chapter of our romance!

Mica looks like one content kitty!

Your new header is awesome, and so romantic *sigh*

Sorry the snow thief came and stole your snow, ours stayed over a week and it still didn't seem long enough! We didn't know about salt being a conductor! They don't use De-Icer here but they do use grit (which is a salt mix) Mum says thank you as she will be more aware of this now for the future.

love and tailwags,

Ben xxxx

Hi Petey
Aunt Bailey here - loved the new header! Remember I am still keeping an eye on you.
Poor Mica hope he recovers from his hangover.
Mum had a cat called Mouchie who was 23yrs old so Mica still has lots of fun to have - hope he gives up the drink - it's been many a cat's downfall!!
Missing you cheeky boy! xxxxxxxxx

Your new header is cool!
We have tons of salt here too. It doesn't make my feet hurt, but I like to sample it, so our walks are punctuated with lots of "leave its." I don't mind the snow, but it would be nice to see Mango and Momma less grouchy.

Kisses,
Dexter

I am so glad we don't need booties in Florida, I would probably eat them before wearing them.
I Love your new header, somebody must be a very talented artist to create that for woo.

Where did all of your snow go?? You and oodles of it the other day!!

Do you want to come up here and play in the snow in my back alley; we still have plenty!

Those "booties" are a terrierific invention aren't they?

Ww, Mica! You look like one happy Aby! We agree with the choice of Sancerre!

We think those booties look rather cute on you, Petey! And that it's probably better to have nice dry feet than dragging all four paws in salt and slush.

Tom and Tama-Chan

Mom said a good Sancerre is DEFINITELY worth it!! I hope Mica's head is ok, he needs to pace himself!

Sorry your snow is going, but think of the fun at the run in the sun!

Petey, Mom thinks you look so handsome in your coat and booties I think she is going to try and find some booties for me and Casper to wear. (Not that we have any snow over here in Melbourne!) Silly mom!

Hey Petey

Love the shot of Mica on the couch - those cats - they get all the fun.

I like your booties - D wants to know what they are called. She bought me booties for outdoors - but I refuse to walk in them - instead I do a version of RiverDance - or RiverDogDance and send them flying in all directions - so instead I get a paw bath every time I get home. Not sure what I dislike more, booties or baths...

I love the photos of you and Asta in the snow - I do not like snow - but I think you two accessorize very well for it.

Lots of licks
Sally
