"I'm a terrier, not a trained circus monkey!"

Petey is a dog of many talents, as I'm sure I don't have to tell you.

I know everyone thinks their dog is a genius in a fur coat, but in Petey's case -- and I know quite of few of you who have met him can attest to this -- it's true. He remembers every single shop or restaurant within 10 blocks where he's ever had a cookie in the past nine years.

He's convinced countless young ladies to give him samples of ice cream. His name should be Ben...or Jerry.

He has proven to be an impressive agility dog - as long as there are plenty of treats for incentive and time isn't important. (Sometimes he likes to take a break once he gets up on the table.)
He has trained countless humans, including this 7 month old baby, how to correctly play with a tennis ball.
He's even discovered ways to make bathtime (mine, not his) more fun (for him, not me).

He can make himself comfortable almost anywhere.
But of all these crazy moments he has allowed me to capture with my camera (and believe me, there are hundred's more), I've never been able to capture his smile -- a real toothy smile, not a grimace -- when I first come home or when I ask if he wants to go for a walk. And tonight, I thought I was going to finally be able to immortalize his talking in his sleep but as soon as the video clicked on, he went silent as The Artist. Oh, he's a tricky fellow. I guess you'll just have to meet him and see him do these things for yourself!

Hi there Petey, it's always good to hold something back - more opportunities for bribery attempts.
Toodle pip!
Bertie (also a genius in a fur coat, of course).

Petey is a legend! It's been so wonderful to have been able to follow some of his adventures in the past 3-4 years. That bath routine is priceless.
Hope you are well, J. So nice to see you blogging again.
