Our Bermuda holiday continues!

Okay, okay, so we didn't actually LOCK Auntie Bailey in her room. We just provided a bucket of liver snaps and a "Murder She Wrote" marathon on the telly. She was happy to hunker down and let us slip off for a few minutes to enjoy the spectacular sunset...

The next morning, we were up bright and early to see Bermuda from the water on our chartered yacht.  Rosie and I stretched out on the bow, after carefully making sure all her white spots were covered with SPF 30. We brought along my squeaky frog to play with. Truly, we were in paradise!

Then we heard some baying from the bow. It was Auntie Bailey, all worried that we didn't have on our lifejackets. But before she could get her own jacket snugly in place, we heard a big "whoosh" and Auntie Bailey's chaise disappeared with her on it!

Apparently, she'd been sitting on the parasailing bench!

"Goodness gracious!" we heard her bay as her favorite hat went flying off in the breeze...

Then she decided to sit back and enjoy the view. How do you like her Bermuda Pink Sand pawdicure?
Back in Hamilton, I ran into my old pal Snickers. Lacie was off at Trimmingham's, buying a duty-free Waterford water bowl for Asta. Snickers and I had decided to "go native" in our Bermuda shorts, as had his friend Wimsey. We are both New Yorkers, yet had never met.  Wimsey said he was vacationing all alone, which gave Rosie a great idea.

You see, my Rosie is not only beautiful but brainy as well! "Petey, we'll never get some time to ourselves unless we can get Auntie Bailey on a new scent...let's introduce her to Wimsey!"

And suddenly Auntie Bailey was off on a whirlwind romance of her own! Careful of the Birdcage, Wimsey! Good thing the bobby is stopping traffic. (You'll see we were able to fish Auntie B's hat out of the sea!)

The two of them headed off towards Dockyards to tour the old fort and have lunch at the Frog & Onion pub. (It's owned by a Frenchman--the Frog-- and a Bermudian-- the Onion.)

We met up with Lacie and Scruffy and Wimsey and Auntie Bailey at a colorful Gombey parade. We loved the lively music and bright costumes so we all joined in with the dancers and singers!

As the day drew to a close, the three couples all drifted off in different directions.

This left Rosie and I on our own to have a final romantic dinner overlooking the beach. I have no idea how the spiny lobster tasted...I was too captivated by Rosie in her evening dress and tiara bedecked with heather.

We heard the unmistakably sound of dog-snogging and were astonished to see Auntie Bailey and Wimsey sharing a slobbery smooch at the next table. Is this a Love Connection? Or does what happens on Bermuda stay on Bermuda?

And for those of you who were wondering who was mixing those potent cocktails, the sound of a whirring blender should give you a clue. Lacie even generously shared her secret recipe for the Lacipolitan with bartenders across the Island.

Our beautiful and fun-filled weekend was coming to a close way too quickly. As a Bermuda longtail flew overhead, we walked through the Moongate. Legend has it that young lovers who walk through the Moongate are blessed with good luck.

All I know is, with Rosie Posey by my side, I'm the luckiest fella in the world!

Hi Petey
Yes, you may call me Martha. I am currently considering your letter carefully. You will understand that although my sister Bailey was concerned for Rosie my concern is for Bailey.
I am sure I don't know what to make of these claims that Martha is now having a whilwind romance with Wimsey. There is no denying he is one of the most handsome hounds I have seen so very clever of Rosie.
As yet we have to hear from Bailey - we got a brief postcard yesterday but no contact beyond that. It could be that she and Wimsey have picked up a scent - in which case we may never see them again!
I think I will feel happier when I hear from Bailey herself advising me of what is going on.
I find it hard to believe that she would shirk her responsibilites as easily as her hat flew away. All because of a handsome hound!
I am relieved that she is not locked away as believe me this is something Bailey would never tolerate!
You all certainly look to be having the best of times. Bailey being a canny Scot however is not so easily led astray!
We have called off Interpol and instead we now have Marvin - the hollow hound on the case. Marvin is a Scot himself so will be investigating.
By the way we love the pawdicure - Bailey had to jet off without having her nails done at home though thankfully had been furminated!
Yours, Martha x
PS Thank you for you offer of jetting us both of - at the moment I cannot leave my mum!

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!! It looks lovely! I am glad you are having a grand ol' time - it doesn't sound so bad for Auntie - I mean Liver snacks and reruns of Murder, She Wrote - fantastic!

Not sure about that parasailing doo-dah - I would have lost more than my hat...

Hi Petey
It was most thoughtful of you to let us know that Bailey and Rosie are now onboard AireRuby and heading for Scotland.
It was also very thoughtful of you to include a hamper with all the local delicacies.
We have nevery been to Bermuda and will look forward to sampling these.
We would have to hand it to you that you are a very good organiser and a born story teller. As for your charm there is no-one reading your adventures who would question this!
We were impressed with all your hard work in organising so many fun events. We were, of course, a little disconcerted to see Bailey mid-air! Thankfully all is well that ends well.
Our mother is a little worried that some of the photographs may show Bailey in not such a good light! She is not given to sudden romances and like all hounds her head is generally ruled by her nose as opposed to her heart.
Wimsey and Bailey will have a lot in common - indeed it could be argued they both look equally miserable!
We will look forward to hearing from Bailey herself.
Of course you must visit when you are next in Scotland - we wont bother with a cup of tea we will open the malt whisky and share a wee dram.
Yours, Miss Martha xxx

I am glad Auntie was able to find a little romance of her own! I am also glad that it appears as though Lacie behaved. maybe she is calming down as she gets older?? I am glad you had a great date with Rosie.

Haaa...Joe asked if I behaved...there wasn't much chance to misbehave locked in those stoopid stocks almost all weekend. I'm wondering if you didn't notice that Auntie Bailey and Butchy took off on a single moped for a wild spin around the island??? That Auntie is a riot...I might hafta go over and visit her bloggie and see if she wants to share a dram of somethin' with me??

That Lakiepoliton was one of my biggest successes...oh yummers!!! I still mad at ya Petey...I never had a chance to pedicure my nails in that lovely Sandpink you showed...I better call my friend Opi so he can crank out another similar shade for our Burgh stores...

You are really too much Petey...how did you meet Rosie anyway? I mean one weekend we were in a clutch er I mean a cruise and the next your practically married to this hounddog??

I think I missed somethin'...

Love and kissies...Platonic of course...
