Although a tear may be ever so near...

I think that everyone in our DWB community has been shaken to the core by the news of Klaus's passing. While I did not know Lulu and Klaus and their lovable 'Dale Bogie very well, my heart went out to Lulu as she shared her experiences over the past few weeks. She opened her life up to us and we opened our hearts up to her and Klaus.

In these shared moments, it became very clear. Klaus had a wonderful life. He was loved by an incredible, funny, gorgeous woman who was his soulmate. He lived surrounded by beauty. He found joy in Bogie's antics. He was rich in family and friends.

We should all be so fortunate. His was a life worth celebrating. So in the days to come, let's all be a bit kinder, a bit more patient, laugh a bit louder, hug a moment longer...and smile.

Smile though your heart is aching;

Smile even though it's breaking

When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by.

If you smile through your fear and sorrow,

Smile and maybe tomorrow,

You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
That's the time, you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?

You'll find that life is so worthwhile,
If you just smile.

Oh Petey!

That was fantastikhk!

Marvin's mum used that song earlier in the week fur a post that made my mom leak...

I think woo helped identify some of the reasons this all did happen!

Great job little fella!

That trip to Bermuda was sooo inspirational to woo!

Oh my dog. A most beautiful post. (yep, this song made me leak when I heard it at Marvin's.So beautiful) It is true that not many people get the gift of that kind of love.(The only unconditional magic love I have known is from mainly my parents and other close blood) Love a little deeper, cling to your loved one a little longer, appreciate what you have. A lesson we can all learn from this. (One of the ones I have been learning. And irrationally I feel somewhat guilty that my mom is still hanging in with Klaus gone)
We will hold Lulu in our hearts. And Bogie. Eventually he will stop looking for his Dad...(My Daddy's little dogs looked for him for months-now they look for mom)Lulu knows Klaus will always be with her.
*sigh* A sad day.
Hugs aand sad licks, bowed heads

That was truly beautiful. We saw the dreadful news first thing this morning and we are dreadfully sad for Lulu and Bogart.
We have never met Lulu or Bogart but feel their pain.
As you so wisely commented Klaus had a life that was filled with love and for that we should be thankful.
Thanks for your post today Petey.

What a beautiful and thoughtful post Petey. It has been truly amazing how the DWB has come together in support of Bogie, Lulu and Klaus. I really wish that the DWB love could just physically envelop Lulu and Bogie and whisk away their pain and sorrow. Unfortunately, while that love is almost palpable we know that it will not be enough right now and that they must set out on the journey of grief and healing feeling the pain yet knowing they are loved.

We're shocked about the news too. We all thought he was going to get better after all the love & zen he's been getting from all of us. But God decided to take him...

Awwwh Petey,
Thanks so much for the wonderful post. It's so hard for some of us to express the right words at times like this. You did a great job. Thanks for the Bermuda trip photos too. Mama has been so sad that she didn't even develop my photos of the trip. We need to go make Mama smile now.

Beautifully-said (sang) Petey! We didn't know Bogart or Lulu very well either but when something like this happens, you can't help but reach out because you know how it feels and you just have to comfort those who are grieving, especially when you see what loving souls they are. I hope Lulu, Bogart and the kitties find comfort in the support of all their old and new friends.
