You scream, I scream...

We got to take Bear with us for our walk the other afternoon. It's lots of fun, especially when I go one direction and he goes the other and Mommy's stretched like a starfish in the middle! Anyhow, as we were rounding the corner near the Bleecker Street playground, we spied the ice cream truck!!! Yay!!!
Bear and I split a serving of vanilla (divided into two cups) -- which was fine with Mommy since it cost $6.00!!! Ahhh, you gotta love New York, right?

Bear liked his, but he didn't LOVE it like I do! So I got to finish his up too. Good thing Asta wasn't with us or I'd probably not even get a good lick of my own! That girl LOVES her ice cream.

Now, here's what Mommy's screaming about today. She called Delta Airlines to make a reservation for me to ride on the plane with her when we all go to South Carolina with Asta and her Mommi and Daddi in September. Now mind you, Asta and I don't get our own seat. We're in black duffel bag carriers under the seat. We can't get out. We can't go for a walk or eat salted peanuts or watch a rerun of The Family Guy. No. We're in the same bag that if it was full of clothes would be traveling for free. We don't get frequent flyer points (although this will be my 20th flight at least) and we can't redeem points for our tickets. We get ZERO special service. And yet, the airlines (and we checked - Continental and USAir were the same price) have the nerve to charge us $100 EACH WAY for our flights. That's $200, up from $150 earlier this year due to "increases in fuel costs." We think this sucks! If you agree, please write to your favorite airline and protest as well. Just not fair.

On another walk through Chelsea, we passed a public school that had wonderful murals by the kids on the outside walls. As a writer, Mommy really loved this:

But I thought it also sounds like why we all like to write blogs. To connect with one another and to become superheroes, sports stars, mermaids, angels, grown-ups and best of all, crazy creatures!

To all my crazy creatures and their crazy people! I lift my ice cream cone in a toast to you!!!

$100 one way and you don't even get your own seat or your own bag of peanuts or power bar? This is totally not fair! Hopefully your mom will sneak a treat into her purse and give it to you after take-off, Petey!

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Boy are the airlines BAD!

We should catcott and dogcott them. Mommy says the proper word is boycott. I wonder why girls don't have a girlcott. Mommy says we are silly.....

BEar is super cute! So are you, Petey. I haven't been by to visit you or Asta lately ... my mom is teaching summer session so she's basically lost her mind. But soon she will be off for a couple of months and we can get all caught up. Good to see you are still cute as ever and NY is still interesting every day.

Wow! you would think for a hundred buckaroos that you'd at least get a first class seat with your own frosty paws!! = )

What a great sign you saw - reading and writing and blogging is very impawtent, I agree.

Glad you enjoyed your ice cream!!

Sorry for mish-mash of comments!

At least you get to ride with your humans! My mom can't find a crate big enough for me to fly in, and the too-small crate won't even fit in their wagon.

AND I found an (empty) ice cream cone on my walkies yesterday but my mom dug it out of my mouth. :(

But it is a terrible outrage, and OUTRAGE that it would cost so much! Cuz fer sure you are not using $200 worth of fuel!

(I think Continental still has good rates??)

Hi Sweet Petey!!!

First of all we love that story of your Grandpa seeing his wire foxie again!!! That indeed is a wonderful sign of hope, isn't it?? Course Mumsie when she sees Scruffy in her next life is gonna wonder where 'xactly she ended up....hahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!

As for the airplane...hmmm...shame ya hafta tell em ur in there...guess they would scan you guys and get a little't totally the rest of the airline industry.

Ahh...Petey...words are such fun things...we have to agree with ya there! And books are even better! Mumsie can walk into a library and feel her blood pressure dropping 10
points...ahh....she loves the smell of really old books like in a library or old bookstore. How far are you guys from the New York Public Library? Bet that's something to see!!!!

Kissies to ya sweet Petey!

Pee Ess...'course I can swim.....

Ooooh, love the mural by the kids. If I had an ice cream cone in my paws I would salute you back but as I haven't I'll just high five you!

Shame on Delata for charging you that much to fly. But sure will be be worth it for the fantastic holiday you will have with Asta and her two leggededs in Carolina.
