Welcome to South Africa! In an effort to shake off some of our jetlag (with Mango snoring on the plane for the entire 15 hour flight, we didn't get much sleep. Who knew Ambien came in a dosage the size of a basketball?), Asta and I decided to go for a walk around Max's estate. Needless to say, Lacie insisted on coming along, yapping the whole way.
Well, you can just imagine the pitch her shrieking took on when we stumbled onto one of South Africa's legendary diamond fields! Max had told us we could help ourselves, so Asta set about finding a perfectly matched pair for some earrings, whilst I looked for a suitable trinket to soothe Rosie, who is none too pleased that I've gone to South Africa without her...
Lacie, on the other paw, went all Liz Taylor on us!
Just look at her haul! She claims she's out to bag the African Big Five - round, marquis, pear-shaped, emerald and cushion-cut!
She was so frenzied when we got back to Max's house, she started yammering on and on about diamond fields to Tanner who —no surprise — got all confused and roused Joey from a hard-earned nap (Mango's continued snoring at the house had roused several curious lady Cape buffalo) to go looking for this:
Needless to say, Joey was NOT amused.For our daily adventures, be sure to visit Mango!

Great Diamonds should not some furbody bring me some.
My sissies are placing their orders for a diamond each. They're not fussy just bring back what you can. They only have one requirement....it's gotta be big. My pinkies will pick them up from you next year when they visit NYC. Thanks mate.

Well Petey...cept for Asta...diamonds are a girl's best friend!!! Frankly, my favorite choice is the PEAR SHAPED DIAMOND I mined...go ahead Petey...laugh all ya want...when your socks and bondages are sunk on Wall Street, I WILL STILL BE RICH...just think...a diamond as big as my derriere...WOOOOOOT...tiny thing that I am, it would still be quite a few carrots, huh???? (Thinkin' bout carrots makes Lacie hungry so she chooses a few fresh cut carrots and carefully dips them into a yogurt dip and chews thoughtfully....)

Maybe some dogs will finally realize what I have to deal with as you guys all spend more time with Tanner. I hope this diamond find for Lacie sedates her for a while or puts her into some kind of blissful coma.
