Preparations under way for the DWB Convention in NYC!

Although it has been COLD and rainy here since Sunday, Asta and I took advantage of a sunny morning to discuss our hosting duties for the first Dogs with Blogs International Convention to be held in New York this July. There will be many of our flat-friends attending with their two-leggeds, but we'll be the 3-D canine hosts!

There's so much to do in New York in the summer —the very thought just made us exhausted. We'll want to take our friends on a lovely walk along the Hudson so they can see the skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

We'll want to show them the hotspots in our wonderful West Village neighborhood. Great little restaurants and shops, and of course, shopkeepers who keep a big supply of dog biscuits on hand. And they'll want to stop by our favorite stores — Beasty Feast and Zoomies—to get New York treats for their four-leggeds left at home.

Maybe we'll give them a tour of the Dog Run and see how well they can toss a tennis ball or two ....or twenty!
Of course, while Asta and I both consider ourselves to be seadogs, I don't think we're invited on the Classic Harbor cruise. Mom went last summer and just loved it. (Mom here: You really get a feel for New York as a port when you're sailing around the southern part of the island. And incredible views of the Statue of Liberty. Keep in mind that this is a real sailing schooner under sail, in other words - if there's a nice breeze, you'll be tacking back and forth. You'll really feel like you're on the water, more so than on a motor boat!)

Just thinking of all the fun things to do in the Big Apple reminded me of my new favorite treat — Apple and Cheddar yoghund — yep! Frozen yogurt just for dogs! Delish!

Of course, while we're planning all this fun stuff, let's not forget about our pal Digby. He got bit by a tick and has had an awful reaction. He seems to be on the mend the past few days, but he's still far from out of the woods. We love him and his brother Wilf and theirs is one of our favorite blogs to read, filled with characters and scenery from southern France. Please drop by and give him your best wishes and prayers.

What a beautiful terrier you are Petey... I wanna get a tiny terrier one day soon, so if you get any Cairn/Yorkshire/Border/Norfolk or Norwich terriers pregnant, do let me know, I'd be well up for a tiny terrier pup!!

Our Mom wants to mail our flat selves to you so we can attend since we're so booked up we can't come. Or will this coincide with Jake and Fergi's visit - if so she can send our flat selves along with them as they are planning to grace us with a visit. Please let us know - rockycreekscotties at yahoo dot com.

How exciting Petey, you and Asta will make the perfect canine hosts.
It will be such fun.
We certainly think throwing tennis balls at the dog run is an essential for every dog blogger whilst in NYC!
That yoghurt looks very yummy - we will need to try some although so far we don't seem to like any of these nice things other doggies on the blogs like!
We thought ice cream was just a little too cold, bananas a little too soft, carrots were a little hard for our liking etc etc
from your not fussy Aunties xxxxx

ps Petey they are auditioning in London just know for Toto - you know the dog in the Wizard of Oz.
We have been watching all the dogs go through their paces but actually we think you are the very dog they are looking for!

Mom is counting this green paper and that green paper.....then she says HBO words and sulks. She says it may be the only way SHE gets there is in flat form too. She will keep scheming and figuring. Ami has mentioned Hoboken as a place to stay that is cheaper, uh-less expensive. I told her that is what plastic is for and she explained they expect you to actually pay what you put on there! What's up with that!
We hope she gets there or we'll have to listen to the whining forever......

Oh Petey...we've been very remiss about bloggy readin' and look how far behind we are on your blog alone...

First of all we loved your post on your Grandma...we can't believe it's been a year...

Those pix of her are georgous...we know you must miss her and her ball kickin' foot...we'll keep her in our prayers this month for sure!!

On to the DWB's convention...I'm wonderin' if my flat self can give your most round butt a good nippie? Gotta keep those cardboard toofers sharpened...

Now Mumsie has to go back to her emails...is the sailing cruise Wed. night or on Thursday?

Does it rock? I'm just sayin'...she'd probably be ok, but I refoose to spend the whole time holdin' an emesis basin when I could be FLIRTING....

Hmm....I'm going to hafta go and read this stuff for Mumsie...she's hopeless...

Kisses, dear boy...

Love and more,

Laciekins

Petey, Mom can't wait to go to NY. I wish I could go with her, but she is being particularly uncooperative about it. Sending smoochies!
