Hi everybloggie!
Petey here. I'm back home from my fabulous week at Asta's - chasing balls down the hall, nipping at the Furbrat (one more hump and I could have snapped 'em off as well as the vet!), sleeping on the big bed with Asta and squeezing George and Ami out of the good spots. It was a blast.
Well, all good things have to come to an end right?
So today, I went home. You see, Mommy had an operation last week on her abdomen and was in the hospital from Friday until today. All went well, and now's she's home but she walks funny and can't bend over to pick up the ball and doesn't seem to have a lot of energy. Great, huh?
So I've been giving her the cold shoulder. One quick wig-wag of my tail as I zoomed by to say hello to our friend Karen who fly in from South Carolina to help Mommy for a few days. Then I pounced on my favorite tennis ball. No big smiley teeth, no butt-wiggingly tail wag for Mommy. Nada.
When Mommy was a little girl, her Mommy went into the hospital for a few days and she was taken care of by various neighbors who showered her with gifts and treats. When Grandma came home, Mommy looked at her all pouty and said "The funner days are over.
I couldn't agree more.
(Thank you again Ami and George - Asta too - for your overwhelming show of love and support. You are our earth angels!)

Hey Petey, sounds like your mum just needs a little time and then things will be back to normal.
Glad you had a good time with Asta.

Hey Petey...We saw in Nigel's Notes that when Muzzer had surgery, he wasn't even allowed on the bed for two weeks afterward. We hope your mom heals lots faster and can throw the ball soon.

Oh Petey...so you sorta ignored ur mom when ya came home? Our big sissie's kitties wouldn't come out from under the bed when she was away over Christmas...they pouted for hours!!!
Now, Petey...we've been nursin' Axel's mom, but there is no way I'm going to have you nursin' ur mom all by yourself...I will be arrivin' for breakfast tomorrow after my 11-7 shift with Miss Dani...I will be needing some supplies ready.
Ice, fresh fruit of ur mom's choice...and some additives for energy...you may need to pick those up at the special store down the street. I also need ur rubber chicken to cook. And a pot. Oh...for special flavoring, I'm thinkin' of boilin' a couple of you tennis balls...
I'm thinkin' after your mom's AM care, that we should have a manicure/pedicure time and a paw massage. After that I plan on walkin' her up and down the halls...just for short periods with sufficient rest of course.
Just watch, Petey...we'll have her back on her paws in no time flat. Now I have tomorrow night off from Axel's...so I will be staying with you. Figure out some sleeping arrangements...(Lacie giggles, relieved that none of her instructors are going to be supervising......)

Petey Pete!
I know that Asta, Ami & Georgie will miss having you around. They always say you're like one of the family. Asta always goes on & on about what a good boy you are.
I'm glad the fuzzbrat won't have any more chances to hump you. Hopefully his snip snip surgery will nip that in the bud (hehehe).
Please give your mama loads of goobery kissies from me & Stanley to help her rest & heal. Sounds like she'll be needing a few weeks' supply of those! You, my friend, stay warm.
Goobery love & kissies,
Stella Bean Latifah
Sorry all your extra-fun times are over (just for now). But I know you will take good care of your mom.
hi Petey, we saw you over at Asta's and we could tell you were having a lot of fun. you should be nice to your mommy too. she will be more playful in a few more days.
woofs.
The funner days may be over, Petey, but not for long. Soon your mommy will feel better and everything return to normal. Just having her home should be fun.
Go easy on her Petey. She needs lots of love and kisses. That will help her to heal faster and then she will be able to throw the ball and play with you.
Good luck to your Mom, Petey. We hope she has a quick and complete recovery!
Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie
Petey.Pal what's up, giving Mommy the cold shoulder? S'not like you.You must be mad at her for leaving you? She'll be well soon and throwing balls for you before long. And don't forget, it's your birthday soon, wink, wink. Know what I'm saying??? Want some MORE funner huh? And the cool ball throwing machine....
Take very good care of Mommy and give her huge wiry licks and kissies from me your bestest pal.Oh and Petey...eek scary...make sure you lock Lacie out in the hall at night k?
Wiry wags, Eric xx
Don't worry! In no time at all mom will be back in action. But while you're waiting, make sure you bounce off the walls and NOT off her tummy, okay?
Now Petey...good news!!! I have the night off tonight...so I'm thinkin' maybe we should go out on the town and have a nice dinner or something...that Auntie Kawren sure is a lotta fun...(are everybody's aunties in New Yorrk named Kawren??) I can't believe how much she adores my smoothies...maybe we should bring her along on our DATE.
Mica has offered to look afer your mom...frankly she's doin' so well I'm not sure how much more nursin' care she needs...
That was so nice of her to buy me a new blender...I had no idea that it was going to be runnin' for 14 hours straight today...the small fire when it burned up was so quickly extinguished by the handsome members of the NYFD...that Dalmation they have is even HOTTER than the one that came to Muzzer's house when I caught their kitchen on fire. Tra la la la....
That's so sweet of you to allow me to sleep in the big bed tonight...do you REALLY think your mom will be ok on the sofa??
Barkies...

I'm sure your Mommy will be back to normal pretty soon, in the meantime you're supposed to snuggle with her lots of the time. Beans heal faster if they're snuggles you know! ;)

Hi Petey,
Glad to hear that your mommy is ok and that you had a fun time over at Asta's! Life with her is always filled with excitment, so I can only imagine the amount of fun the 2 of you had!
Give your mommy some time and she will soon be playing balls and giving you cuddles!
Hey Petey, hope your mum is feeling better now. J x
Wow, I am just catching up on your bloggie. Did your Mommy have splurgery? It's pretty brutal, my Momma had TWO last year and I had to watch her and take care of her for a while. It's true, the funner days are sort of over for a bit, though you should be able to get lots of cuddle time with her now.
