In just a day or so, I may have a girlfriend of my very own!

Well, Mommy went off to a fancy birthday party this weekend at her friend Trey's place in Pennsylvania. If you can believe it, Mommy and Trey went to kindergarten together! And now he's her dentist in Manhattan. How weird is that?  It would be like Asta growing up and becoming my vet! Usually I get to go along too, when we go spend the weekend with Trey, but there was going to be too much going on. Oh well. I may not get to run around chasing balls on 6 acres of countryside but I can sure run alot in that nice long hallway at ASTA'S!!!
Yes, that's exactly who I got to stay with! How much fun is that? She's got the best toys, we get to go to the dog run together, and her Mommi always slips us treats (something Mommy doesn't do at home!) It's just the best ever.

Last night, I was dreaming about who may become my GIRLFRIEND! The voting comes to an end very soon so PLEASE be sure to VOTE NOW. Some pups have thought I was big chicken for letting everyone decide for me. But I thought that would be the nicest way to go, so no one's feelings would get hurt.

So despite that fact that Lacie seems to be dating every hound with a blog and Asta Marie seems to have found a potential husband #4 in Jake, your votes still count! No dimpled chads on DWBs!!!

Asta's Mommi got up in the night for a drink of water so I nicely moved to her place in the bed to keep the spot warm for her. See what a considerate doggie I am?
Maybe I'm dreaming about YOU, my future GIRLFRIEND!!!

Thanks again Asta for a super-duper weekend!

Here's to your BEST year ever, Jackson!

Welcome home, my friend. We sure have missed you. Raise a glass of champagne to celebrate the end of a difficult year and the start of a brand shiny new one. The best is truly yet to come.
Then around midnight, take a look out your window...that's no shooting star! It's Aire Ruby, filled to the brim with all the four-leggeds that love you so much!

Happy Birthday dear Jackson, Happy Birthday to you!
Now blow out the candles and make a wish...
wait...it already came true!

The Bow-chelor: Doggy Style - The Final Rose

Well, just like the summer reality shows, my experience as The Bow-chelor: Doggy Style is winding down to it's dramatic (and hopefully, romantic!) conclusion...

And like American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance...YOUR VOTE will determine who will be my new girlfriend...

To recap my romantic journey...

There was the darling Airegirl, Gaia who spent the day with me in Central Bark.

There was Dewey's Mom, Asta Marie. She has a thing for bowls so we went to Bowl-a-Rama...

Abby is a true-blue Yankees Fan, so we went to Yankee Stadium...

Maya and Kena—sassy Cairns, just like me—hit the boards on Broadway...

And last but certainly not least, Lacie was the Queen of the Mermaid parade at Coney Island.

So please, over the next few days, cast your vote in the poll on my blog.

What lucky lady/ladies who receive(s) the FINAL ROSE is in your paws.

I'm so nervous about the final outcome, I can't even concentrate on playing ball!

Meanwhile, as we get better and better news about our pal Jackson, pups are celebrating across the globe! Our enthusiasm far outshines the opening ceremonies at the Olympics!

However, we heard from J1 today and Jax is going to take a few days off from blogging while he recuperates (and bosses the nurses around!). So don't be concerned if we don't hear anything until he gets home on Friday...just in time for his birthday! (Speaking of which, time to book your tickets on Aire Ruby for our big birthday surprise!!!)

Last but not least, here's the latest photo of Bianca. We may get to meet next week!!!

Now what are you waiting for??? GO VOTE!!!!

The Bow-chelor: Doggy Style - Episode 5

Well, my friends, it's that date you've all been waiting for...my date with none other than Lacie!!! She was back Stateside this weekend, before heading back to London to supervise Jackson's post-operative care. (Tomorrow is his big surgery—we're all here for you, pal!)

Now, when planning a date with Lacie, I had to keep the girl in mind...big personality...adventuresome...bold...and perhaps...a little bit scary. Ehh, I mean, dangerous! Yes, that's it...dangerous!

Where else could I take her but to....CONEY ISLAND!!!!!

Under the boardwalk, adventures by the seaside and all that! We started the day with some beach time, so Lacie could enhance those golden bronze curls of hers....

Lacie chose this spot beside the rather large lady in the blue swimming suit. (I'm behind her. With Baby Stan, who came to drop off Lacie. And Stanley, who was in town to see Asta.)

Lacie was adorable in her pink bikini. However, due to problems with the top riding up, some policemen told us to move along..."This is a family beach, after all!"

No problem...It was the day of the famous Coney Island Mermaid Parade, an annual summertime celebration!

Naturally, we had to join in this celebration of fantasy and dogbauchery!

Lacie made a beautiful mermaid...

And I was her Merman...although Lacie told me she thought I looked more like Ethel Merman...

None the less, we were chosen as King Puptune and his Queen and rode on a float, waving to the astonished throngs... We would have continued on to the end of the parade route, had Lacie not spotted this sign...
"Hey Petey," she said with a snarl, errr, I mean, a smile, "I double dog dare you to enter the Hotdog Eating Contest! What's a skinny Japanese guy and a 300-lb. giant got on you, little man?" She rubbed her paws in glee.

So I went for it...
And you'll never guess...I WON!!!

It was a tremendous upset. And guess what the prize was? MORE HOTDOGS!!!

Afterwards, Lacie looked over at me and my bulging belly and said, "Let's go on the Wonder Wheel and see if they can make it go extra fast! C'mon, it'll be fun!!!"

Remembering my unfortunate motion-sickness on my date with Asta Marie, I deferred, suggesting we try out some of the gentler rides first...

We had a wonderful time on the little boats...
(Don't their smiles remind you of Lacie's pearly whites?)

Then we took to the air in the flying bumblebee...I've always been partial to bees every since I was Sting last year for Halloween... Wheee!
This date was going GREAT!!!

"Enough of this kiddie stuff," said Lacie, "I want some real action!"
So we headed over to the arcade.
I kept catching the balls instead of throwing them...
But Lacie did a terrific job! She knocked out all the Pac-Man and the red-haired lady!

Ouch. These poor doggies have had 100 shots. Wonder who bit them?

"Let's go ride through the haunted house, Petey!" squealed Lacie.

Looking at the bared fangs, I suddenly had a flashback of an incident involving Dewey and involuntarily shivered....
But I had nothing to worry about! I just made sure that Lacie had a big box of saltwater taffy to keep those jaws busy and not snapping at me!

Finally, we headed to the renowned Cyclone roller coaster!!!
At first I was afraid that we'd be too short to go on it...

But then Lacie had the great idea to stand on my shoulders...we just made it!

Reluctantly, we handed over our cornshanks and bones...and were given the very first seat!!!

It was so thrilling...and Lacie hadn't so much as nipped me...I had to ask the question...
LAAACCCCIIIEEEEEE...will you.....

ACCCCEEEEPPPPTTTT  this ROOOOOSSSSSEEEEE????
I couldn't hear her answer, what the wind, the rumble of the roller coaster and her mouthful of saltwater taffy, but all in all, I thought it was an excellent date!

Now...to await her response.....

Postscript: The fair Lacie has said she will indeed accept my rose, if I place it gently between her teeth! Apparently her brothers have wagers as to whether I will survive, err, succeed.

I'm ready, Lacie!

Kudos and a bouquet of roses to Asta's Mommi Ami whose incredible photography skills have made these dates come to life! My most chewed up tennis ball is all yours in gratitude. Petey

The Postman Always Rings Twice!

Me and Mommy came home from our walk the other afternoon
and the doorman told us the most exciting news.
There was a package for us! No, not for us...for me, PETEY!

There was this sticker from the Royal Mail! Wow!!!
Which Royal Mail do you think delivered my package?

I hope it wasn't Prince Phillip, too grumpy. Since I'm such a scruffy guy,
it was probably Prince Hairy!

Speaking of scruffy guys, check out this wiry fellow...he looks alot like ERIC!!!
My bestest of best pals.

I dug right in...

There was some lovely chocolate and Scottish Breakfast Tea for Mommy.
(Excuse me, the package was addressed to ME.)

Hmmm, this package smells and looks particularly interesting....

OH BOY!
It's a stuffy— funny fuzzy lips with crazy teeth and a big fat cigar! Hehehe!

I was so happy, I ran out of the frame. This is a stop-action shot of my tail-wagging!!!

I couldn't wait to play with my funny new toy! It even squeaks when you bite it.

Isn't this the greatest stuffy ever? Me and Mommy giggle every time we look at it!

There was also this cute card from Eric with a terrier on it!

Mica even got in on the act!

So you want to see them in all their glory?

Here you go!!!

Then, believe it or not...the very next day,
ANOTHER parcel arrived for PETEY.

It was also from the Royal Mail...
(boy, when do those guys have time to deliver the mail,
what with ribbon cuttings, polo matches and waiting to rule?
I guess not.)

This package had a handsome red wiry sticker from my woofy boy, Eric.

I tore it right open...

The card read "Petey - Have a ball!" A BALL!!!

Mommy loved this "veddy English" wrapping paper with umbrellas,
tea cups, crowns, and old fashioned telephones.

But that didn't stop me from tearing it open. It smelled delicious!!!
Just like a nice, fresh, fuzzy...

Tennis Ball! It's enormous (but not so big that I can't play with it!)
Just need to find a bike pump so we can inflate it. There was even
one for Asta, so we don't have to share. How nice is that???

Hmmm, wonder who I'll get to deliver Eric's goodie parcel?

Thank you soooo much Eric! It was the best week EVER!
